Mountain Bike Challenge

On Saturday the 14th of May 2011.

We are based in Oamaru, New Zealand.

Come out and challenge yourself while enjoying the spectacular views over the Kuriheka Estate.

The start and finish point will be at Kuriheka Estate woolshed situated five minutes inland from Maheno, which is just south of Oamaru. Signposts will be placed from the Maheno turnoff.

Food and Hot & Cold Drinks will be available.


Mountain bike Challenge.

Full 20km challenge - The full ride will challenge most riders climbing from 400 to 1500ft over 8km. It then goes into the downhill run.

12km down hill run - For those who prefer to do the mainly downhill run, there will be transport for bike and rider to the top of the hill.

Riders will be able to start between 9.30am and 11.30am after their Registration.

No Scutineering - It is up to the rider or their guardian to ensure their bike is mechanically sound with good brakes and tyres.
Helmets are compulsory
and sturdy footwear and the appropriate clothing is recommended.

Fun Walk or Run.

20km challenge - Following the same track as the mountain bike riders with the 8km climb, traveling from 400 to 1500ft, then a 12km down hill run with a few inclines on the way.

12km down hill run - For those who prefer to do the downhill run or walk, there will be transport for groups to the top of the hill.

Runners and walkers will start between 11.30am and 12.00

Sturdy footwear and appropriate clothing must be worn.

This is an annual fundraiser for Scott's Own Sea Scouts Oamaru.

An entry fee of $20 per adult, $10 per high school student, $5 per child under 13, or $45 per family (2 adults & 2 children) applies.
